UC Davis PER members David Webb, Cassandra Paul, Mark Bowen, Antoinette Stone, and Robert Lynch will Travel to the AAPT SUmmer 2010 APS Meeting (July 17th-21st) in Portland, OR.

UC Davis is chosen as 2010 PhysTEC site!!! UC Davis is one of 5 new PhysTEC sites chosen, and the only major research university chosen, based on the proposal "Preparing Physics Teachers at UC Davis". The grant is for three years and a total of $294,000 starting August 2010. It came from the Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) which is a group organized by the American Physical Society and funded by the National Science Foundation (among others). The proposal was written by David Webb (PER), Howard Day (director of the Math and Science Teacher Program at UC Davis), Barbara Goldman (UC Davis School of Education), and Warren Pickett (chair of Physics Dept. here at Davis).
