Universe at UC Davis Initiative - This initiative is a faculty recruitment plan for a multi-disciplinary initiative on the UC Davis campus focusing on the frontier of physics and information: a multi-disciplinary collaboration devoted to experimental/observational probes of Dark Energy and Dark Matter with the ultimate facility for probing this new physics being the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). The goal is six new faculty hired in the four departments - two in Physics, two in CS, and one each in Math and Statistics. One position, in CS, remains to be filled.
