The Crocker Nuclear Laboratory Cyclotron has been operating for over 50 years, but it’s still finding useful and exciting applications in the 21st Century. In addition to the historical commitment to the treatment of uveal cancer in the eye and studying radiation effects on electronics, scientists have recently started new initiatives in isotope production, environmental studies, accelerator instrumentation, and other areas of physics.
