Paul Brady, professor emeritus of physics at UC Davis, passed away on September 18, 2019, following a brief illness. He was 88 years old.

Paul Brady earned his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1960. He was hired at UC Davis in 1962 where he pursued research in experimental nuclear physics, neutron physics, and relativistic nuclear collisions. He led the UC Davis experimental nuclear group for about a decade before his retirement from UC Davis in 2001.

The Paul Brady Graduate Fellowship Award for graduate students in the Department of Physics was originally established in 2010 and then expanded in 2017 through Paul’s generous donations. The fellowship has allowed physics graduate students time to concentrate on their research and make good progress toward doctoral degree completion.
